Guidelines for Grant Requests
The HRBT Foundation prefers to fund specific project and program requests rather than generalized support. Organizations must be recognized as tax-exempt by the IRS under section 501(c)3 and may submit only one request for support of any kind during one calendar year. The Foundation will not entertain separate requests during the year for fundraising events, conferences, or other special events to benefit the organization. Grant applications may be submitted at any time. The Board of Directors meets at various times during the year and grant applications are reviewed by the Directors. Only complete proposals will be given full consideration. Proposals sent via fax are not accepted.
If you have any questions or difficulties with the online applications below, please call the Foundation office at 518-671-6226.
As a practice, the Foundation does not contribute to the following:
• Individuals
• Political Organizations
• Debt Liquidation Purposes
• Religious groups for sectarian purposes
How to Apply for a Grant
The Foundation recognizes that non-profit organizations serving the communities range in size from small grassroots groups to large institutions. To facilitate the grant application process, the Foundation has developed a streamlined process for requests up to $1,000 and a more formal application for requests over $1,000.
